QUESTIONS ABOUT YOUR APPLICATION

  • What opportunities are there at STAR?
Jobs, internships, student work, dissertation placements, permanent employment in the various STAR departments or management positions for professionals – you will find plenty of exciting jobs listed in our current job vacancies. Where? Either at our headquarters in Böblingen or at our many national and international locations.
  • If I have questions about my application, whom should I contact?
Do you have questions about your STAR application? Our recruitment team handles all applications centrally from our headquarters in Böblingen and can give you all the answers you need. You can contact us by telephone on +49 7031 6288-287 or +49 7031 6288-3576, or by e-mail at lisa.strobel@star-cooperation.com or pascal.bivi@star-cooperation.com.
  • How and where do I apply?
Applying is digital at STAR, via our online application management system. It’s quick and easy – we guide you through our application form step by step and then you just upload your supporting documentation. Also, alongside every job vacancy, you will find a button to “Apply online now.” Clicking that will take you straight to the online application form. Click HERE now to go to our current vacancies.
  • Are there any special considerations when I apply online?
You can upload your documents quite easily in our online application management system. However, please note that your files must be no larger than 7 MB.
  • What documents does STAR need with my application?
Please upload your online application cover letter, CV and certificates. You can either do this individually or combined together in one document.
  • How do I submit a speculative application – and what do I need to include?
You can apply online using our special form for speculative applications. In this, you will indicate what kind of work you are interested in and which STAR department you would like to work in.
  • How does the selection process work?
Our recruitment department and the relevant STAR specialist department meet with suitable applicants at individual interviews. Sometimes, these interviews also include short case studies (handled individually). This helps us to check out practical knowledge. Before making a permanent appointment, there will then be a second interview. The reason for this: during the second selection phase, everyone gets to know each other better and we can explore issues together in more depth. After that, we make our decision very quickly.
  • When will STAR contact me?
You will receive an acknowledgment from us when you have submitted your application – within just a few minutes. In some cases, we need to forward your application to several STAR departments, so it can sometimes take a little longer before all the relevant people have seen/reviewed your documentation. However, we will stay on the case and make sure that you hear back from us as quickly as possible. Usually, the whole application process takes an average of four to six weeks.
  • How do I know if vacancies are still current?
All the vacancies listed on the STAR website are current. However, this may not be the case for vacancies you have found on other job platforms. Tip: before you apply, just check on our website that a vacancy is still open.
  • What language skills are required to work at STAR?
Our business language is German, so we stipulate that you must be fluent in spoken and written German. As we are an international company and work with many different customers worldwide, we would also like you to have a good level of English. Any other languages would be welcomed.
  • What are the requirements for doing an internship?
At STAR, your personality counts for a lot – alongside good exam results and a focused CV, with no gaps. Do you already have references from other internships or student work? Then please send those to us.
  • How long does an internship last?
We offer internships starting from three months.
  • Can I do an overseas internship at STAR?
If there is an opportunity listed in the current vacancies, then you can also do an internship overseas.
  • How far in advance do I need to apply for a job?
For a speculative application, please apply no earlier than three months before you want to start work. Otherwise, we always indicate a precise start date for each job in our vacancy list. Of course, we try to be flexible and also recruit at short notice.
  • Does a lack of international experience rule me out?
We don’t stipulate that you must have international experience, but we are happy if you do. It adds value to your application and rounds off your profile.
  • Is previous work experience a prerequisite?
For some positions, you need specialist knowledge and previous experience. However, we make that clear in the vacancy description.
  • What is the starting salary for graduates?
The salary that lands in your account at the end of the month depends on the position in question and on your particular personal and specialist skills. We believe in fair pay at STAR, as we value the work you do for us. Therefore, we align ourselves with the current salary levels in the market.
  • I would like to apply for several jobs. Do I need to submit a separate application for each one?
No, one application will suffice. Just indicate in your cover letter which vacancies you are interested in. We will forward your paperwork to the relevant STAR departments and staff.
  • How long does STAR store my application documents for?
We store your data in our system for 12 months. By submitting an online application, you also consent to our privacy policy.
  • How can I make sure I do well at the interview?
Do some research about us before your interview – particularly the STAR department you would like to work in. Make a note of any questions you have, as we will be happy to answer these for you. And tell us about yourself – who you are, what makes you stand out, and what you are passionate about. Remain authentic. Follow the motto: Be yourself. Be a STAR. Because for us, it’s your personality and your passion for the services of the future that count.
